We now interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring you another episode of Teen Talk. I assure you, everything you are about to hear is real and unedited. Please, do not try this at home.
One day, Teen was hungry.
Teen: “Hey Mom, could you make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.”
Mom: “Sure, ok”
Teen: “And Mom, could you cut the crust off?”
Mom: “What? Cut the crust off? That is something you do for little kids!”
Teen: “I know”
Mom: “Even when you were a little kid, I never cut the crust off. You never asked to have the crust cut off.”
Teen: “True…I am finally getting up the nerve to ask…”
The End.
LOOOOL… and then turn round and ask for one with the crust off too hahahaha 🙂
Yeah, I just could not believe this kid who is as tall as me now wanted the little crusts off his sandwich!! ha
Ha! – out of the mouths of babes! Happy Friday:)
I know – he gets me every time! Have a good weekend!
Gotta say…I love the name of your blog. It reminds me of the Pistol Annies song “Lemondrop” where they sing “My life is like a lemondrop, I’m sucking on the bitter to get to the sweet spot. I know there are better days ahead.”
Anyway, Cracked up over this convo…of course you’re much nicer than my mom was. She’d have just told me that I’m not helpless and to do it myself. 🙂
ha! Yeah, I am way too easy on them sometimes! But the words “you have two arms and two legs, too” have been known to pass my lips – lol!
That is TOO cute.
Thanks! He is always cracking me up!
Ha! I do enjoy teens. My question is, did you do it? Did the crusts get cut off? If you did, I can’t wait to hear all of the other things he’s going to ask that he was too afraid to ask before:)
Well, I handed him the knife when the sandwich was done and told him he was old enough to cut his own crusts off! Which he did, and then happily ate his sandwich! lol!
good ending.
Thank you!
Nice comeback. 😉
Yes, he is full of them! lol!
Ha! So funny. Sweet too that he still wants you to make him those sandwiches–crusts on or off 😉
yeah, well he is really sweet then because he still always wants me to do things for him – lol! At least he makes me laugh!
love the oliver twist reference…
YES!!!- I am a happy girl now – someone got it!! I should have known it would be you – lol!!
Awesome! Self confidence and PB&J!
ugh! I am mad I did not even think of Oliver Twist! NIce allusion!
ha! That’s ok! The line is not word for word…
Yes! A perfect combo!
